Approximately 4,000 years after the end of the last ice age the first trees began to grow. These great forests lasted another 4,000 years before the mighty trees lost their grip in the soggy soil. Enveloped by vegetation, they eventually became part of the peat bogs which allowed the wood to be preserved from decay.
During production and drainage of bog land for agricultural use, some decayed roots and trunks are released from their slumber of thousands of years. I salvage this rare wood, protect it from light and rain and allow it to dry out naturally.
